Consider a Gift to MLA
Annual giving is an important measure of members’ attitudes and feelings about the Association. By participating, you are showing your support for MLA and its critical work. The gesture of your support is as important as the size of the gift itself. Any gift, of any size, helps MLA and is greatly appreciated.
Your donation will help ensure a successful and vital future for the Music Library Association. Gifts to MLA may be deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes.
Your gift makes a difference! The Music Library Association supports a variety of scholarship through research and publication awards, and other special programs. Giving to MLA is also a wonderful way to honor the living or to remember the deceased. Designate a specific fund or support MLA goals where funds are most needed. Gifts from individuals, organizations, businesses and foundations are critical to our mission.
The value of your contribution can be doubled by you or your spouse/partner’s employer through the matching gift program. Add your voice today to the chorus of support by including your name on the roster of contributors.
Choose How You Want to Support MLA
Planned giving is a vehicle for individuals to arrange for future gifts of money or property. Such gifts usually take the form of bequests, but planned giving may also be effected by naming the Music Library Association as a beneficiary of an insurance policy or retirement fund, or by making an outright gift. More details are available on our Planned Giving page.
Gift of Stock
A gift of appreciated securities, such as stock and mutual funds, is an excellent way to support MLA. Not only is giving stock simple, but it can provide a greater tax benefit for you and your favorite charity than an equivalent cash gift.
Contributions to these funds support the designated purpose either immediately or through growth of a designated investment. Donors can indicate that they prefer a sociallyresponsible investment vehicle for contributions that are invested. MLA's socially
responsible investments are held at Calvert Investments. Their approach features two distinct but integral research frameworks: a rigorous review of financial performance, plus a thorough assessment of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance.
The seven broad areas assessed are Governance and Ethics; Workplace; Environment; Product Safety and Impact; International Operations and Human Rights; Indigenous Peoples' Rights; and Community Relations.
In the list below, fund names that are
marked with an asterisk represent our greatest current needs based on fund levels and organizational priorities. See our Guide to Donating on the MLA Web Site for assistance with the donation process.
