Chapter Grants

Chapter grants are decided and awarded at the spring Board meeting. Chapters that receive MLA grants must provide a written report to the Planning and Reports Officer by the following winter Board meeting, documenting how the grant funds were used, and how much of the grant funds were used. Any excess of the grant over the amount expended need not be reimbursed to the national organization but may be used by the chapter for projects of a similar nature. 

Proposals that support the Goals of the MLA Strategic Plan will be given preference. Proposals for projects engaging other organizations (such as workshops or presentations) will receive special consideration.

2020-2021New England$1150Support for a planning stage that will enable a Music Librarianship Course working group of the New England Music Library Association (NEMLA) chapter, with feedback from the Music Library Association (MLA) and the wider library community, to develop an accredited online music librarianship course and explore scenarios for delivery and implementation of the content.
2019-2020 Atlantic $500 Funds supported a music preservation workshop by Alice Carli at the fall meeting.
Greater New York $500 The MLA chapter grant was matched by $500 from the chapter. The funds were awarded to an applicant to use as travel costs to attend the annual meeting in 2020. Applicants were required to be students in MLS programs, early career professionals, or paraprofessionals.
