The Southeast Chapter of MLA welcomes you to Atlanta, Georgia.

The city has a long history as a cultural, literary and media mecca, the birthplace of the civil rights movement, and home to over 20 colleges and universities. The conference hotel is the Grand Hyatt Atlanta, centrally located in the uptown boutique shopping district of Buckhead, the "Beverly Hills of the South.” Enjoy the hotel’s well-equipped 24-hour fitness center, beautiful Japanese gardens, and an on-site restaurant with Southern cuisine, then take the adjacent metro Atlanta light rail train that will make exploring Atlanta simple.

As we get closer to the conference date, the Local Arrangements Committee will be adding more information to the website pages on happenings in the city.

Before you register, be sure to check out the exciting tours planned for Wednesday, February 26, and sign up if you can. Also, please save your Thursday evening, February 27, for a performance of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and/or Friday evening, February 28, for a special reception and a concert featuring the songs of Georgia native Johnny Mercer at the Rialto Center for the Arts in downtown Atlanta, just a short light rail ride from the Grand Hyatt.
