We are pleased to invite exhibitors to participate in the upcoming 83rd Annual Meeting of the Music Library Association, at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia from 26 February-2 March 2014.
Benefits for exhibitors include:
Working with Decision-Makers. We expect approximately 500 music librarians who have direct responsibility for administering budgets, selecting materials, and recommending equipment or furniture purchases.
Multiple Venues. When you exhibit, you also have the opportunity to advertise in the program book (and, new this year, in our Guidebook phone app, our virtual program book), include materials in the attendees' information packets, and call attention to any special materials by donating them to the silent auction.
Networking. Other exhibitors include publishers and distributors of books, printed music, sound recordings, and audio-visual materials; library supply dealers; audio-visual equipment manufactures; and computer software firms.
If you have exhibited at MLA in the past, please note that this year's exhibitor registration is somewhat different. Like last year, we are using an online registration form that will be described below. Please use your MLA login at the site. Following receipt of your reservation and payment, you will be sent confirmation of your reservation, drayage/shipping information, hotel reservation information, and full conference details. Freeman Convention Management will provide drayage and exposition services for the conference. The exhibitor registration deadline is 1 December 2013.
To register as an exhibitor please go to: MLA Exhibitor Registration and scroll down to the entry for Wednesday, February 26, Exhibitor Registration. Please note that this is a secure server, and that your transactions are safe. If you are already a member of MLA, use your username or email address, plus your password, to log in. This is a new service to which MLA has migrated, and you can easily include your company details when you register (this data will be used to populate your entry in the program and in Guidebook).
As noted on that page, if you do not remember your username you can contact the MLA Business Office. This online registration form should make things even easier for you. Once you log in, all of your relevant data from the directory is automatically imported into the form. If you are already a Corporate Member or Patron, all discounts are given automatically. You will be able to preview your complete transaction, and, if you desire, pay for everything in one credit card transaction. If you prefer to pay by check, that option is also still available. If you have any problems or questions regarding the online form, you can contact me directly, or the MLA Business office.
The Exhibitor Registration Form also includes a link to information on placing an advertisement in the conference program booklet and for placing an insert in the conference packet. To advertise in the program booklet or to place an insert in the conference packet please use the shopping cart feature of the new website. Confirmation of your order will be mailed to you. Advertising copy must be received by 1 December 2013. Please note that this is a hard date, and that ads submitted after this date may not be able to be fit into the program. Pending final approval of the MLA Board, we will also be offering ads in the Guidebook app that was so successfully launched last year. Nearly half of the attendees used the app in San Jose, and we anticipate at least as much success this year. If you are interested in this kind of advertisement (click here to see what we will be able to offer), please let me know so that I can gauge overall interest.
MLA also invites you to join us as a Corporate Member or Corporate Patron. As a Corporate Patron or Corporate Member your company gains increased visibility among MLA members, highly favorable publicity, substantial discounts on the services we offer, optimum exhibit locations at MLA's annual meeting, and special acknowledgments on exhibit booth signs and on the badges of exhibit staff. Please let me know if you need more information regarding Corporate Membership, or feel free to contact MLA's Development Officer, Susannah Cleveland (email@example.com).We would like to post a list of exhibitors on the Music Library Association's listserv, MLA-L. For the benefit of librarians and exhibitors we should like to include a brief company description of 25 to 50 words in length. Please provide this description in the online Registration Form.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and, most importantly, seeing you Atlanta!
