Placement Service

The  Placement Service assists individuals seeking employment in music librarianship. To this end, the Placement Officer lists positions available in academic, public, performing arts, orchestra, conservatory, media, and radio libraries. Search positions here. When possible, successful candidates are listed on the Recently Filled Positions page.

How to Post an Announcement

To have a vacancy listed, email Joe Clark, MLA Placement Officer with the published announcement. The Placement Officer will generally post new advertisements within 48 hours of notification, excluding holidays and weekends, to the Placement Service, the Placement Service twitter account, and MLA’s listserv.

The Music Library Association is the professional association for music libraries and librarianship in the United States. Founded in 1931, it has an international membership of librarians, musicians, scholars, educators, and members of the book and music trades.
