Abstract
This session will cover workflows and tools that can be used for creating digital collections of born-digital and digitized oral histories. The speaker will discuss her experience using the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS) for creating metadata and indexing oral histories. In addition to workflows, FREE tools for transcript generation, process of creating metadata and indexing, the speaker will also discuss challenges encountered when working with a video-based oral history collection. The session will benefit those interested in starting an oral history digital collection, or finding web-based tools to enhance digital collections with audio-visual content.
