MLA Presidents Speak: Live in Cincinnati

Abstract
Four former MLA Presidents—Gerry Ostrove; Michael Ochs; Bonna Boettcher; and Phil Vandermeer— will share insights gained from their music librarianship careers and MLA experiences. Rob DeLand (Oral History Committee chair) and Therese Dickman (former OHC chair) will co-moderate the videotaped session and query the panelist speakers. Discussion topics will include: 1) What attracted each to the profession and MLA; 2) notable challenges, accomplishments or recollections from their years as MLA president; 3) how a particular technological change or need impacted them and how the lessons learned could be applied today; and 4) what each foresees for the future of MLA and/or music librarianship. If time permits, attendees are welcome to ask additional questions to conclude the historic session.
