Practical Application of Linked Data

Abstract
Linked Data provides a unique method for empowering information seekers to discover both known and new information. Several institutions have been using Linked Data in real-world applications. This session will showcase two Linked Data projects with content related to music, with presenters speaking about the Linked Jazz project and the Hip Hop Collection at Cornell University. The session will illustrate ways that Linked Data might be utilized by music librarians at their own institutions. The session will conclude with information about additional music-related Linked Data endeavors being undertaken by MLA and other groups.
