Librarian - Music Services Specialist, Adult Services

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library has a full – time librarian position open in our Adult Services Department.  We are looking for an energetic, self-starter with the ability to balance quality reference service with a pro-active service attitude in a dynamic open environment. Applicants must have tenacious problem solving skills, the ability to thrive amidst changing expectations, and the commitment and initiative to represent the library through outreach to the community.  Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of music. 

Position responsibilities will include reference services, reader’s and listener’s advisory, collection development for a rich music collection, and staying abreast of the community’s vibrant musical interests. 

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in library science from an accredited institution. Outstanding customer service skills are essential.  Willingness and ability to work in any of our 4 library locations as well as in Children’s or Young Adult departments is required.  Strong search and computer skills are required.

Annual salary of $39,992 for a 40-hour work week including nights and weekends, plus excellent fringe benefits including health, dental and long term disability insurances.
