Many amateur publications arrive in bindings that are inappropriate for library use, including ring binders and pages taped or stapled together, as well as the more standard comb and spiral bindings. In all cases, the best course is to remove the publisher binding and replace it with a more openable and durable bind, usually by guarding it into a pamphlet to sew or sending it out for adhesive binding.
