Working Group on Metadata Standards

(Bibliographic Control)

Purpose:
To examine the descriptive, structural, and administrative metadata elements currently being used to control music materials, including, but not limited to, those elements employed in the projects identified by the International Music Metadata Projects Working Group; formulate a schema of required elements for music metadata applications, along with recommendations for their standardized use; develop “best practices” with regard to the use of, extension of, and/or transmission of data between the new schema and the other major metadata schemas; by May 2006.
