            The Task Force is charged to advise and support the work of the Music Thesaurus Project (MTP).  The group met in Los Angeles and presented an open meeting outlining the work of the MTP Form/Genre Terminology Working Group, headed by Harriette Hemmasi. The Working Group has had a slow start in accomplishing its goals of identifying and researching form/genre terms in LC music headings for inclusion in the music thesaurus.  This delay in progress is a result of technical difficulties in converting files of the 1998 Soldier Creek Press publication, Music Subject Headings, and in the significant change in work-related responsibilities during the past year of the Working Group's chair, Harriette Hemmasi. The Working Group continues efforts in converting and distributing the music subject headings files and in the identification process of form/genre vocabulary and plans to make a presentation on its progress at the MLA annual meeting in Louisville.
