Reports and discussions
Janis Young, Library of Congress, reported on genre/form headings for moving images. Young gave an overview of the project, including objectives, rationale, form of headings, application and anticipated delivery of records. In addition, she presented the timeline for the project. It was announced that the first group of form/genre authority records would be distributed through CDS on Sept. 3 or later.
There were various brief reports on MARBI, CC:DA, NACO/AV funnel, and other topics.

LITA/ALCTS—CCS Authority Control Interest Group (ACIG)

Program titled “Authority Control Meets Faceted Browse.”
The program explored the topics: What is faceting? Why is it re-emerging in use? Where can I see it in action? This program introduced the audience to facet theory and showcased various systems that implement faceted approaches for online catalogs.
Kathryn La Barre (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) gave an overview of faceted access. Charley Pennell (North Carolina State University) discussed faceted access and Endeca. Mary Charles Lasater (Vanderbilt University) discussed how her institution is using Primo’s faceted browse. Casey Bisson (Plymouth State University) discussed his work with Scriblio and faceted access.
Authority Control Interest Group (ACIG)

Elections were held for open positions on the ACIG board. Mary Mastraccio was elected vice-chair/chair-elect; Annaclare Evans was re-elected to serve another term as secretary; Felicity Dykas will serve as member-at-large for series, Martin Knott member-at-large for names and Shannon Hoffmann member-at-large for subjects.
There was brief discussion of the 2008 Midwinter program. It was decided that there would be reports from the Library of Congress, OCLC, and others.
