Membership Categories Defined
Regular Membership: Available to all interested individuals.
Sustaining Membership: All the benefits of Regular Membership, while providing added support of MLA operating expenses. Half of the cost of a Sustaining Membership is deductible from federal taxes.
Associate Membership: Living in the same household as another member, Associate members receive all the benefits of Regular Membership, but do not receive printed copies of Notes.
Retired Membership: Available to fully-retired members, who retain all benefits of Regular Membership.
Paraprofessional/Non-salaried/Part-time Membership: All the benefits of Regular Membership are available to paraprofessional staff, and to those working part-time, working as volunteers, or are unemployed.
Student Membership: Available to current students (undergrad or graduate) and to graduates during their first year following graduation. Students must reapply after four years in this category.
Corporate Membership: Available to any corporation or organization actively engaged in library work, or that has a serious interest in the stated purposes of the Association.
